A Feast of Festive Spice at The Mint Room in Bath

November 2016 - This Christmas, the award-winning chef Soyful Alom of The Mint Room in Bath has created a culinary concept which perfectly befits the festivities of Christmas. The two or three course menu includes Wiltshire lamb chops with Kashmiri spiced marinade which are a worthy replacement of the typical smoked salmon blinis. Turkey La Zawab is a delightful spiced Somerset bird that will surely put any dry meat with cranberry sauce to shame. For those who can't break too much with tradition there is always Christmas pudding but with a delightful twist of cinnamon infused custard.

Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with Indian street-style canapes before sitting down to a sumptuous festive feast of locally sourced produce, including Wiltshire lamb chops, and Somerset turkey served three ways in the traditional tikka style. There are superb vegetarian options including homemade paneer with mint chutney and spinach, as well as delicious fresh fish dishes, including spiced Scottish salmon and Halibut cooked in a southern-Indian style with mustard seeds and red chilli.

The gastronomic experience at The Mint Room is perfectly completed by one of their delicious deserts which all feature a wonderful Indian twist. For those seeking a new tradition, the Indian caramelised rice pudding with saffron-infused cream is a culinary favourite, and the melt in the mouth chocolate Goulab Jamum is the ultimate pudding for anyone with a sweet tooth.

This festive season The Mint Room is the perfect place for those seeking some festive spice, fresh flavours and gastronomic excellence in a contemporary and fun atmosphere in the heart of Bath.
