A NEW TOP QUALITY RESTAURANT OPENS IN BEAUMARIS

22 August 2011

Cennin, a new top quality restaurant opened its doors on Friday 29 July and
was a double celebration for its owners, Brian and Ffiona Thomas who were
also celebrating their birthdays. Why not try it out on your UK family
holiday on Anglsey.

Cennin, Welsh for Leeks, is the national emblem for Wales and represents
award-winning Head Chef, Aled Williams’ passion for the country and its
outstanding quality produce, a passion which is also shared by owners Brian
and Ffiona.

The opening of Cennin, in Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey, is a long-held dream
for Brian and Ffiona. With two farms in Llannerch-y-medd, Anglesey, it has
always been their desire to bring the “Farm to Town” which they did with
the opening of MooBaaOinc, a butchery and locasan (local artisan) shop late
last year and their diversification has been extended by bringing the
“Farm to the Fork” with Cafe MooBaaOinc which opened in June and now
Cennin.

Ffiona Thomas said; “This was probably one of the best 50th celebrations
I could have wished for. It has been a dream of both Brian and myself for a
long time to bring food lovers a unique experience and with the opening of
MooBaaOinc, then a Cafe and now a top quality restaurant we have fulfilled
that dream with not one but three new businesses!

“In Cennin, the cafe and shop, we are using and selling only the very best
local produce direct from the farmer or producer, including our own award
winning Welsh Black Beef and Welsh Lamb. And with Aled’s exemplary
culinary skills diners will enjoy an innovative and exciting à la carte
menu that we know will put Cennin on the food map.”

Aled Williams is a Gordon Ramsay scholarship winner and Great British Menu
acclaimed chef. From Llandegfan, Aled started his career at Coleg Menai and
gained international and national experience working in Sydney and New York
as well as Ramsay’s Royal Hospital Road Restaurant in London, Heston
Blumenthal’s Fat Duck Restaurant, Ynyshir Hall near Machynlleth and Plas
Bodegroes in Pwllheli. Go and try his amazing food as part of your UK family
holiday.

Cennin is also able to cater for private functions in its private dining
room for up to 14 or by taking over the whole restaurant for up to 50
people, so is ideal for family/friends having a get-together, special
celebrations as well as for business events.

Located at 13 Castle Street, Beaumaris, Cennin is open for dinner Tuesday to
Sunday as well as Sunday lunch and booking is advisable on 01248 811230.
