Halloween Menu Ideas

Well it is that time of year when you are probably thinking of all kinds of parties and the next big one is Halloween.  Now as far as recipes go I am not giving any actual recipe s here but I am going to give a few ideas that you could do.  The good thing is that you can go a little over the top and do a whole load of things that sound disgusting and that is the point.  Most of the names and idea are things that I have seen and made to go on Halloween menus.

For your first bites

Halloween Brochette, made with garlic, diced pumpkin, yellow and red tomatoes, onion, Black Olive tapenade, and basil pesto.  You get the grilled red yellow or orange of the tomatoes and pumpkin on a black or green paste.

Shredded Brain Spread, heat crabmeat spread with onion, chives, cheese and a touch of horseradish and served with toasted bread.

Dusk til’ Dawn Massacre, cheesy nachos with jalapeno peppers, chunky Salsa, Sour cream, and guacamole.

Cheddar Witches Fingers, just make some cheese straws and use a slices almond as a finger nails

Vampire Bat Wings, marinade some chicken wings in teriyaki sauce and bake them in the oven.

Midnight Madness Mains

Witches Cauldron with Maggots, make a chilli with black olives and add a little gravy browning to make it dark.  Then glaze with melted red cheddar cheese and serve with tomato salsa and white rice.

Pumpkin Vomit, take some pumpkin, sweet potato, and carrots and roast then with some brown sugar.  Then add them to a pan with ground cumin, ground coriander and a pinch of turmeric, give it all a good bash around so it goes like a puree.

Baked Brains, macaroni in a cream sauce with diced filed mushrooms, garlic, lots of  mozzarella and parmesan served in a bowl. If you can get them skull shaped bowls make it so much like brains.

Maggot Eaten Heart, a roasted red peppers stuffed with a creamy risotto, make a few little holes in the peppers so it looks like that maggots have worked there way out.

Bat Fries, Fries in bat shapes served with green ketchup , you can get the bat cutters from the shops, as well as lots of other Halloween cookie cutters.

You will get your just Desserts,

Spider Web Cheesecake, just make a cheesecake and pipe on it in dark chocolate or black icing a web pattern.

Tombstone Cookies in a Dark Chocolate Graveyard, a dark chocolate mousse with cookie tombstone, make the mousse and set some chocolate cover tombstone shaped biscuits in it.

Creepy Crawly Jelly, make a lime jelly, and set it in some bowls, then make a raspberry jelly let it cool, add the creepy crawly sweets and set that.  Them make some more lime jelly and set that on top. So what you get is a jelly sandwich of horrible things.

Now I hope that this gives you some ideas of things that you can do.
