Chak 89 and ASDA Join Forces to Cook Authentic Curries

 7 September 2011

Asda have agreed to spice up meal times with curry counters run by Chak89.
English Curry Awards Caterer of the Year Chak89 will be cooking up some
authentic curries in-store at supermarket prices! Asda claims that this is
the first ever quality restaurant style takeaway within a supermarket.

Asda sell well over 1 million portions of Britain’s favourite ‘Chicken
Tikka Masala’ every year. The British taste for more exotic foods
continues to get more adventurous and supermarkets have to improve their
ranges and quality, according to analysts. Curry counters in London will be
launched next year and will be run by Chak89.

According to the Mirror - Noor Ali, Asda’s ethnic range buyer, said: “We
sell more than 3,000 ethnic products and Asian is by far the largest and
most popular. Launching restaurant managed curry counters in our stores and
giving local businesses the opportunity to expand is a natural step for
us.”

Mr Frank Khalid MD of Chak89 said “It’s a fantastic opportunity to give
the general public to taste our fresh and quality cooked food; it is a great
opportunity to work closely with ASDA.”

Chak89 are not only a top Indian restaurant in London, but are also perfect
for all types of wedding celebrations and a great Indian wedding venue, they
can accommodate and cater for up to 650 guests in two adjoining banquet
halls. They are also perfect for business conferences, or can bring the
CHAK89 experience to you by allowing their Indian caterers to stage your
special day at any venue of your choice.
