Oven Baked, Not Oil Caked!

July 2012

Leading fish and seafood producer, Young’s seafood has launched a new range of non-fried, sustainably sourced breaded products, especially for children that give the crispiest finish ever.  The new ‘Kids Just Love it’ non-fried in manufacture range, which ticks all the boxes when it comes to educational guidelines, has been created specifically for schools, but is also the ideal healthy option for children’s menus in pubs and restaurants.

Available under the Ross brand, the new range utilises the unique ‘Lovet’ process, developed by Dutch producer Fishmasters, to bring together the highest quality sustainably sourced fish with a coating of the crispiest ever, golden breadcrumbs.  The process, which gives a greater flavour and has a lower fat content than products prepared in the traditional way, means that the ‘Kids Just Love It’ range will be adored by children and nutritionists alike.

Simon Clarke, Foodservice Group Director at Young’s Seafood explains the benefit of the new range:

“The dual benefit of not pre-frying the product during the production process, along with the unique innovation of the Lovet coating, means that the new range has less fat, more taste and our crispiest coating ever – all of which are crucial for menus aimed at children.  The specially developed coating creates an even, golden colour with a crispy consistency which not only looks great, but also helps to give the fish an even greater holding time.”

There are eight products in the range including, ‘ Breaded MSC Omega-3 White fish fillet fish fingers’, ‘Breaded MSC Omega-3 White Fish Mince Fish Cakes’, ‘Breaded MSC Omega-3 White Fish Mince Portions’ and ‘Breaded MSC Omega-3 Salmon Mince Fish Fingers’.  All products are available through the major wholesalers.
