Andy Young (Of Browns) Joins The Planet Hollywood Team On London's Haymarket
Andy Young is
named as the new executive chef at Planet Hollywood on Haymarket; the world’s
one and only dining experience inspired by the glamour of Hollywood. After an
award winning career spanning nearly thirty years at Browns, Andy Young says
about his move, “I could not be happier, Planet Hollywood is a flamboyant,
international brand, and I’m part of a dynamic, close-knit team. I’m very proud
to work with such enthusiasm and talent; we’re all passionate about creating
the best experience for our guests.”
Having spent
his first month on assignment in Planet Hollywood’s other famous American
restaurants in Las Vegas, New York and Orlando, Andy has had a chance to see
first-hand the signature recipes that have made Planet Hollywood the famous
dining experience it is today. Planet Hollywood has four themed dining areas, a
buzzing cocktail bar and a resident DJ every evening, and is synonymous with
the American greats like eye-popping milk shakes and tremendous burgers. Andy
adds, “It’s also so much more, the menu is awash with choice including
delicious Asian dishes and the best quality steaks you can find in London;
they’re from Donald Russell who also supplies to HRH Queen Elizabeth ll.”
Andy has
always been health-conscious and his wife of 21 years is a personal trainer, “I
certainly won’t be changing any menus for the sake of changing, what’s really
important is that we keep creating dishes that people love to eat,” he said.
“Though I can confess there will be a couple of small tweaks to the menu in
June 2014, look out for more fantastic pizzas, new zingy salads, juicy fish
dishes and even more healthier, lighter dishes.”
Internally
crowned as the best head-chef of Browns, Andy started his Browns’ career in
Brighton, before going on to Mayfair, Old Jewry and Covent Garden. A keen
sportsman, Andy also harbours a passion for France and French food.
