The Mince Pie Pasty is Back
Love Christmas? Love Pasties? Then you'll be delighted to
know Warrens Bakery's Mince Pie Pasty, which was so good it went viral, is back
after a hugely successful trial last Christmas. Renowned for their innovative
and award-winning pasties, Warrens Bakery blew UK and international audiences
away with their trial run of the Mince Pie Pasty last December and now it is
set to return with festive flourish available both instore and online.
Jason Jobling, master baker at Warrens Bakery, wanted to
develop something outstanding that would stand out as a clear culinary winner
this Christmas. He comments: “We wanted
to give a Cornish twist to the traditional mince pie which usually line all the
retail shelves at Christmas. This pasty is handmade using rough puff pastry and
hand filled with specially selected mincemeat and a vanilla custard. It's
crimped by hand in the same way we would a savoury pasty then glazed and topped
with a cinnamon and sugar blend for extra crunch.”
The Mince Pie Pasty is set to be the start of a creative
Christmas collection from the celebrated bakery who also serve delicious
savouries, scones, breads, cakes, sweet treats and regional speciality
biscuits. Their hard work has seen them
receive a long list of accolades for their pasties and artisan sweet
bakes. In 2015 they were recognised in
the prestigious Craft Business Award in the Baking Industry Awards 2015 and
this year they won a haul of awards at The 2016 British Pie Awards and the
World Pasty Championships.
