A Whirlwind Of Awards For The Glazebrook House Hotel

What a phenomenal week it has been for South Devon's Glazebrook House Hotel.  Hot on the heels of being recognised as one of Britain's Ultimate 100 Hotels 2015 by The Sunday Times, it just been named the 'Best Small, Exclusive Hotel' in the Condé Nast Johansens 2016 Awards for Excellence. In addition, it was jointly awarded the title of 'Best Hotel Restaurant' in the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards.  The celebrations continued when its new executive chef, Michelin starred Anton Piotrowski, was named 'Best Chef of the Year' at these prestigious Devon Awards.

The Glazebrook was up amongst the best in Condé Nast Johansens' 34th annual Awards for Excellence, which took place at The May Fair Hotel in London, and when announced as the winner of the 'Best Small and Exclusive Hotel' category the team were completely over the moon.  Amongst the judges' comments about the Glazebrook were: “Fantastical and artistic with a cool vintage vibe” and “the combination of the weird and wonderful (inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland) and flawless quality defies the rulebook for traditional country hotel to offer an escape from reality”.

It was another night of celebration at the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards in Exeter as the Glazebrook's newly renamed restaurant “Anton Piotrowski at the Glazebrook” was jointly awarded 'Best Hotel Restaurant' alongside Kentisbury Grange's The Coach House.  With the announcement of Michelin starred and MasterChef: The Professionals 2012 winner, Anton Piotrowski becoming the Glazebrook's new executive chef in October, they have double the reason to celebrate when Anton, owner of the Treby Arms in Sparkwell, was also awarded 'Best Chef of the Year'.  Anton is now overseeing the restaurant at the hotel, which has an outstanding kitchen team headed by chef Dan Bennetts.

Commenting on these awards, Pieter Hamman, owner of the Glazebrook says:  “Wow, what a week! We are completely overjoyed by both these accolades. It's amazing to see all of our team's hard work being rewarded at such highly esteemed awards.”  Pieter continues: “The last eighteen months has been such a great journey for all of us, and with continuing expansion and new faces on the team we are excited as to what we will achieve in 2016.”

Revamped in early 2014, there's no doubt that this boutique hotel will 'surprise, delight and enrich'.  With this new announcement and all the recent successes, early booking is highly advised.  Come and experience why the Glazebrook House Hotel is rapidly moving into the country's hottest and most desirable hotel number one spot.
