MOONSHINE BREWING COMPANY OPENING BREWERY DOORS FOR BEHIND THE SCENES PEEK,
Open House on May 24 to Cap Off Chicago Craft Beer Week Events
CHICAGO, IL (May 3, 2012) - In conjunction with Chicago Craft Beer Week, local brewer JD McCormick is opening the sacred brewery doors at Moonshine Brewing Company (1824 W Division) for a unique experience for beer aficionados. Starting at 5 pm on Thursday, May 24th, beer lovers from far and near are invited to join JD for free tours of Moonshine's on-site brewery and to learn firsthand about what goes into making a standout craft beer. In addition to $4 pints (with CCBW lanyard) and $12 64-oz growlers, JD will mark the occasion by introducing three brand new summer brews: a Belgian Pale Ale, a Kolsch and a Maiboch (still un-named - but feel free to
give JD your suggestions!). Guests will have the opportunity to put on their brewer's caps and sample the new beers in their freshest state - straight from the giant steel brewing tanks inside the brewery.
Having studied at North America's oldest brewer's academy, Siebel Institute, as well as the world-renowned Doemens brewer's academy in Germany, JD taps into a discerning knowledge of yeast strains to create ground-breaking micro brews. He admits to throwing out all style guidelines when it comes to producing his suds.
"The difference with Moonshine beer is creativity. My brewing is a product of my passion for art, science and history, and I'm true to my own inspiration," JD says. "My goal is to produce beer that nobody has ever tasted. Beer that's truly extraordinary."
