The famous Diamond Jubilee Queen Cake, which appeared with Holly and Phil on
ITV This Morning, The Graham Norton Show and the Ideal Home Exhibition, has
finally come to rest in its home town of Sydenham, London. It can be seen in
our fabulous cake showroom.

The news is that The Cake Store has since been invited to create an amazing
display of cakes in Harrods Knightsbridge store window to commemorate The
Queens Diamond Jubilee.

We have also just launched a brand new, amazing website, with over 900
celebration cakes that can be personalised to suit any occasion. We have
some wonderful ideas for street party cakes.
Being a small business, with a very enthusiastic team, please help us by
reviewing our new website and helping us let people know…..I’m afraid we can
only afford to pay for generous write-ups in cake!

Mutzen or Muzen

Now where ever you go you seem to get a sort of sweet batter doughnut like pastry, the reason for this is , they are really nice to eat. Mutzen are a German version of this kind of thing and are normally made around Mardi Gras time or New Years. Now depending on where you are in Germany you will find variation to how they are made. You will need 150g/5oz plain flour 1 egg 2tsp milk 1tso baking powder 1tsp salt 2tsp sugar 30ml/2floz sour cream Vegetable oil for frying Icing sugar with vanilla to roll them in once cooked. Take your flour, baking powder, salt and sugar put them in a bow and make a well in the centre of it. Crack the egg in that and add the milk and mix until you have a stiff batter. Heat the oil, and deep fry the dough, it takes about 1 to 2 minutes to cook all depending on the size . Drop the batter in from a spoon so it forms a sort of tear drop shape.
