Irresistible dishes from award-winning vegan street food pioneers and founders of Wholefood Heaven, David and Charlotte Bailey have taken the street market (they are at Whitecross Street Market and Ally Pally, London) by storm with their vibrant, healthy vegetarian and vegan cuisine with an emphasis on maximising flavour. Their new cookbook features over 100 recipes bursting with fresh ingredients and superfoods and naturally low in saturated fat, sugar and salt. Discover dishes from regions with a long tradition of vegetarian eating, such as Asia and India, as well as innovative twists on Spanish tapas, Middles Eastern mezze and more.
When David and Charlotte Bailey fell in love with a Citroen H van they saw parked in Notting Hill, Wholefood Heaven was born. Having worked in many leading restaurants, including as the founding head chef of Saf, where he cooked with Chad Sarno, David followed his heart and hit the road. The ethos of Wholefood Heaven is simple: no matter where you are, you should be able to buy high-quality, nutritious, healthy, ethical and tasty fresh food. They won Best Main Dish at the British Street Food Awards for their Buddha Bowl.
“… After a gruelling festive season and twelve straight weeks of camping, we thought we'd try and live the dream and treat ourselves to a couple of months in Bali to write our first recipe book and to hopefully imbue it with some of the colour, sunshine and vitality of that magical island. We were a bit worried we might not be able to get hold of ingredients or that the kitchen in the house we'd rented wouldn't be at all suitable; but the taxi from the airport dropped us off outside a raw/vegan restaurant and grocer and we were soon installed in a paradise kitchen overlooking the rice paddies and quite certain we'd made a good decision!” David and Charlotte Bailey
