Move Over Blackcurrants, There's a New Berry on the Block

With its quirky name, bright ruby red appearance and scrumptiously tart taste, the Chuckleberry is fast becoming the 'berry of the moment.' Speciality food company Cottage Delight, which has been making traditional preserves in Staffordshire for over 40 years, has recognised the delicious potential of this berry with the creation of Chuckleberry Jam, the latest addition to the company's best-selling range of award-winning jams, marmalades, curds and honeys.

Chuckleberry Jam is an exciting preserve that packs a delicious fruity punch. With a definably tarter flavour than the more commonly known blackcurrant, this dark and juicy berry is a delicious blend of the redcurrant, gooseberry and jostaberry* and creates a stunning topping for cheesecakes and a scrumptious filling for crumbles.

That's not to say that this tasty preserve should only be saved just for baking – it's also delicious enjoyed with vanilla ice cream or Greek yoghurt for a simple dessert, or spread on hot crumpets and fresh bread for an indulgent snack.

Lovingly made in small batches using traditional open copper pan methods, Cottage Delight's expert jam makers, who between them have over 103 years' jam making experience, use the freshest berries picked at their juiciest in Mid-July to retain the tart flavours of this unique berry.

Chuckleberry Jam boasts a high fruit content to create a truly scrumptious preserve without any artificial ingredients. Suitable for vegetarians and gluten-free, Chuckleberry Jam is available from independent retailers across the UK from the end of July and priced £3.30 RRP.
