Hampton Court Palace Hosts The First BBC Good Food Festival 23-25th August 2014

River Street Events and Historic Royal Palaces are delighted to announce the inaugural BBC Good Food Festival at Hampton Court Palace.

Taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Festival will be the perfect summer treat, offering opportunities to sample the delights of the BBC Good Food Festival while visiting the historic Palace and its glorious gardens. Packed with producers and showcasing delicious food, drink and ingredients to try and buy, visitors to the Festival can explore taster dishes from some of the finest local restaurants or create the perfect summer picnic from a selection of artisan creators. Some of the country’s most celebrated chefs will also be on hand to give their top tips in the Summer Kitchen demonstrations.

In addition, Historic Royal Palaces’s food historians will be preparing Georgian recipes in the Palace’s historic kitchens, as part of Hampton Court’s Glorious Georges season.

Laura Biggs, Managing Director at River Street Events comments, “We are honoured and excited to run the first BBC Good Food Festival in partnership with Hampton Court Palace. The Palace is a beautiful landmark and stunning backdrop for such an event. As a local business we know the surrounding area really well which will help us understand and deliver the local elements of the event as we intend to integrate local restaurants into the festival. We look forward to the launch and hope for a long and successful partnership with Hampton Court Palace.”

Nicolas Brett, Director of UK Publishing at BBC Worldwide said, “Hampton Court Palace is a wonderful venue and the BBC Good Food Festival gives us a unique opportunity to showcase all that Good Food has to offer in an iconic British setting.”

Paul Gray, Palace Director for Hampton Court Palace added, “We’re delighted to be hosting the BBC Good Food Festival at Hampton Court Palace. In its 500 year history the palace has seen many a lavish feast prepared for kings and queens, but this is the first time we have held a major food festival like this within the Palace grounds.  We are sure it will be a fun filled day for all the family, and even better, kids go free!”

This is the sixth BBC Good Food event that River Street Events have added to their growing portfolio in 2014 following the announcement of a brand new Spring Show at the Harrogate International Centre. These Shows join the original portfolio of hugely successful exhibition centre shows in Glasgow, Birmingham and London.
