Human Rights Charity event addresses global atrocities

10 August 2012

On 8th September in London, Human Rights charity, Voice of Humanity, will be
staging a charity fundraising event in aid of Amnesty International, “The
Voice of Humanity Fund,” to address global atrocities against men and women
and also to raise much needed funds to continue production of their Human
Rights feature film, “The Voice of Humanity.”

According to the organisers spokesperson Ross Fall, the reason for hosting
the event is to address the many atrocities and inhumanities being committed
against innocent men, women and even children across the world, especially
in Iran today.

“This is a film being made for the international cinema which will be
addressing the many crimes and atrocities being committed against various
minority groups in Iran, groups such as the Baha'i, Iranian Jewish and
Christian communities and even Muslims, who are by no means exempt from
suffering these atrocities.

“Our message to the world is by no means what so ever a political one. We do
not in any way shape or form support, advocate or promote any single
political group, party or entity, nor do we support or advocate any violence
or acts of aggression between or against any religion, race or culture. We
are simply addressing the noble and sacred cause of humanity and all mankind
across the globe.”

Fall stated that the main focus is to address the country of Iran and the
Middle East. “The fact of the matter is that the evils of; oppression,
tyranny, racism and discrimination of the innocent knows no boundaries.
These are the main points and issues which we will be addressing both in our
film and also at the event,” he said.

Fall is the Director of the film and will host the event. Fall recently
worked with Director Martin Scorsese on the film Hugo, and has done other
film work such as the Highlander films.

Guest speakers at the event, which is being staged at The Gala Bingo Hall in
Woolwich, SE London, include representatives from Amnesty International,
Peace In Kurdistan (A Kurdish/Iranian women’s rights group), Shahrzad
Elghanian (Author and LA Times commentator) and SW Radio Africa (Human
Rights group Africa/UK).

Other guests appearing include Emmy award winner and Bafta nominee Roger
Johnson who will also co-host the event. Johnson has worked with many great
musicians such as Rod Stewart.

Entertainment at the Black-tie event will include The Christ Faith
International Church, a multi-cultural Choir, who will sing the event’s
opening song, “We are the world, we are the children.”
Other artists include London-based Jewish music group, Shir Music, who have
composed and produced the music for both the film and the event, and female
operatic singer, Sharon Selman, who will be singing the song, “Pre-Genach”
for both film and at the event along with a host of other songs.

Co-Producer of the event is Martin Nigel Davey, who has produced many films
and stage shows in aid of charity with backing from various film celebrities
including, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Roger Moore and Johnny Depp.

Other guests will include those who have generously given their time and
assisted in either the production of the film or the event. These include;
Pinewood, Bray and Teddington film studios, Lifecast Ltd from Elstree
Studios, Spot Light Studios, Secprint and Straight Ahead Sales.

Those who wish to attend the Black Tie charity fundraising event, which will
run from 2pm-5pm on 8th September, should book tickets, which cost GBP
