Avoid wipe out this summer by taking advantage of the newly launched ‘Surf
and Turf’ UK short breaks at the Vale Resort in Hensol, Wales.
The four-star retreat in the Vale of Glamorgan, which boasts award-winning
golf courses, has teamed up with Cressey’s Surf Academy to give
adventure-seeking guests a “totally awesome” surf and golfing experience.
The breaks are designed for golfing fanatics who want to mix things up a
little and swap the sand of the bunker for that of the beach. Each package
provides two hours of surfing tuition, in groups of no more than 10, and all
equipment and insurance is provided.
Guests can strip off their wetsuits, don a pair of plus fours, and play a
challenging 18 holes of championship golf on one of the longest courses in
the UK.
Approximately 30 minutes from the Vale Resort, Cressey’s Surf Academy is
headed up by South African surfing champion, Ingemar Cressey, who has more
than 20 years’ experience of riding the waves in UK and international
waters, and 12 years’ experience of teaching people to surf.
Cressey’s Surf Academy is the first surf school in Wales accredited with the
Academy of Surfing Instructors - the Australian based world standard in surf
education, and abides by the high international standards for surf school
operations.
The Surf and Turf Break consists of:
• One night luxury four star accommodation
• Full Welsh breakfast
• Two hours surfing tuition (group tuition am or pm)
• All equipment at Cressey’s surf academy
• 18 holes of championship golf
• Free parking
• From £109 per person.
• For numbers of five or more, a private course can be arranged at a time to
suit the party, including on weekdays.
