Ten new Spice Drops® Earn Great Taste Awards

Over half of the 30 strong range of Spice Drops® have now won a Great Taste Award. In the latest round of voting in the prestigious 'Oscars' of the food world, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, three Spice Drops were given an 'outstanding' two stars and a further seven received one star declaring them 'simply delicious'.

Spice Drops® are a range of highly concentrated extracts of herbs and spices that transform a dish or drink with a single drop, adding as authentic a flavour and aroma as the raw ingredient without the hassle.  All the Spice Drops® are made using fresh produce sourced from local farms and the extraction process, perfected over more than 20 years, means that the drops retain the freshness and taste of the raw ingredients as well as their nutritional benefits.

Across the board the judges commented favourably on the accuracy of the pipette as a dispenser and the authenticity of the individual flavours, quite often 'astounded at the strength and brightness of flavour just a single drop produced'.

In 2015 Rose and Saffron Spice Drops® were given one star each while Mulling Spices, Cardamom, Lemongrass and Cinnamon were awarded two stars.  This year, the following 10 varieties joined the ranks of Great Taste Award Winners:

Two stars:

Orange
Garam Masala
Chai Spices
One Star:

Cumin Seed
Coriander Seed
Clove
Mace
Peppermint
Pepper
Tulsi
Gouri Kubair, Managing Director for Spice Drops® said: “I'm thrilled that so many of the varieties that we put forward to the Awards this year have been recognised – 10 out of 13. The general comments about the appearance, the dispense method and the authentic taste and aroma of the Spice Drops® range is extremely pleasing.  We have worked hard to rebrand the product this year to give a more contemporary, fresher look and recognition of their authenticity is fantastic as that is what we have striven for with these products.  I'm especially pleased that Orange Spice Drops®, which was only launched this Spring proved so popular.”

The judges said of the Orange Spice Drops®: “We are now sampling with a sweetened soured cream.  The effect is wonderful: very clean, very true.  A lovely hit of fresh orange zest, the oil, the zest, the whole character of the fruit.  A hint of bitterness, a fresh cloud of orange mist, adds fresh sweetness in a tiny drop.”

For your chance to try Spice Drops® and to find out how to stock them visit Stand 3825 at the Speciality Fine Food Fair or visit www.holylamaspicedrops.com.

But let's let the judges sum them up: “Such a clever product!  A wonderfully versatile product, very cleverly packaged.”
