Meat or not.

All depending on what your opinion of eating meat is more important, than is it right or wrong. If you believe that animals have the right to live and breath, Should not be farmed and you should not eat them then it is wrong. If you do not believe this then it is right to eat them. It is a matter of personal choice all down to the individual and what they decide is best for them.

Personally I do eat meat, and I do not feel that any thing wrong in that. But as a whole we all eat to much meat and that is a problem. As an animal we are designed to eat both meat and vegetables as we are omnivores. But as we have developed we had started to farm and raised animals. And now in most developed countries we have a really farmed supply of meat. It is cheap and mass produced ready for consumption all year round.

And this to me is a bit of a problem. We have this supply of meat and it consist that we eat it almost every day. But the actual fact is that as a hunter gatherer we would not have eaten meat unless we had killed it. And as every one know how has watched a wild life documentary that is not every day. It is this ready supply of meat that we now have that we can not cope with. Put that and the processing of meat and modern production techniques and you have some thing that the human body probably can not cope with.

So the real question is should we eat so much intensively farmed meat. Some studies have shown that if you eat more poultry compared to red meat this is better for you. Other have shown that the fat in a farmed chicken is now higher than a piece of beef because of the lack of exorcise that the animals have.

The truth is that yes we all eat too much meat and need to eat less. And we need to increase the amount of fruit vegetables that we eat. As normal it goes back to having a healthy and balanced diet.

We must find a balance in every thing we do and also goes back to how we farm our animals. Over intensive faming techniques are not very good for the animal. And it produced a meat that is arguably poor in quality. So as consumer we must begin to pay more for good quality ingredients that has had a good life and been well cared for.

And there you have the root of the problem, as consumer we do not want to pay more but we want better quality. If you are a manufactory you can make high quality or you can mass produce the same as in farming.

So what do we do if we all stop eating meat. First all th4e animals that are on farms that are not needed will be killed. Just killed as they would have no real value any more so it would not be worth while keeping them. Second a vast number of animal breeds would just die out as we would no longer have a reason to rear them any more. And is that what all good vegetarians want.

It is hard to say what is best and probably less meat more vegetables and less intensive farming and a better quality of life for the live stock is the best thing. All that need is us the consumer to go out and pay more for out food .
