Simple fast food

Health eating and simple fast food does not always go hand in hand. It is easy to slip in to the habit of fast and simple process ready meals that are not always good for you. But you can have a health and varied diet that is easy to maintain and full of all the things you need for an active and productive day. And that you will not have to spend your life in the kitchen having to prepare. What you want is some thing that has a lot of carbohydrate and very little fat.

For breakfast it is the perfect breakfast to start the day with is porridge with honey. Or if you do not like a hot bowl of porridge then how about making your own muesli. To make that all you need is oats, sultanas, fresh or dried banana, some dried or fresh apple and you have a very health start to the day. Or for the healthy cooked breakfast you can have very lean bacon, mushrooms cooked in a little vegetable stock, grilled tomatoes and a poached egg with a slice of toast. Not to forget baked beans, or tined tomatoes on toast. With fresh fruit and low fat yoghurt you can always have a good start to the day.

For lunch all depending on what you are doing but if it is the packed lunch then why not do a pasta or rice salad. Or if you can warm it up make your self some soup. Leek and potato, carrot and coriander, chicken and sweet corn the list could just go on and on. All you need to do is fine the taste that you like and add it to a pan with a bit of vegetable stock and you will have a grate soup in just a few moments. If you make a big pan of it you can freeze it and warm it threw another day. What ever you decide you do not just have to have the old cheese and pickle sandwich and a packet of crisps.

Now for a simple no fuss dinner you could not beat just getting a pepper, courgette, red onion and chop them up place them in a dish on top of them pace a chicken barest and pop it all in the oven and roast together. In about thirty minutes you have chicken and Mediterranean roast vegetables. Or if that does not grab you and you want some thing that will fill you and be easy to cook try a risotto. Start by cooking the rice in a pan and adding the water to it a little at a time and then as it cooks you can add what ever takes your fancy. Another simple and very easy one pan one dish way of cooking is the stir fry. Take you fresh vegetables and fish meat and get then in the wok.

Cooking can be a drag for just one and you can find that you do not feel like it after a day at work or just back from the gym. But fresh cooked easy food can not be beaten. And it normally cost less than a per prepared ready meal , so you will be saving money as well.
