Foodie Winter Breaks To Look Forward To In Suffolk, Derbyshire And Lancashire
05 Dec 12
If you need something to look forward to for New Year
ahead, Food Safari’s food courses combined with a weekend in the beautiful
Suffolk countryside at a luxurious boutique bed and breakfast, make a memorable
weekend away.
Popular Food Safari courses include game butchery and
cookery, wild food foraging and cooking, bread making courses for beginners and
more advanced bakers, seafood days catching lobsters and learning about oysters
and smoked fish, and a nose-to-tail pork day of butchery, curing and preserving
and cookery. For the first time this year these courses are also on offer in
the beautiful South Derbyshire countryside and the hills of Lancashire.
In Suffolk, Food Safari has teamed up with boutique bed and
breakfast, The Old Rectory. This elegant Georgian house set in beautiful
grounds, just seven miles from the foodie, seaside village of Orford and about
the same from stylish Framlingham, with its stunning castle. It is a modern
country house bed and breakfast with stylish rooms and delicious local food.
Special packages are available on two night’s dinner, bed and breakfast with a
full or half day Food Safari for two people.
If you can’t get away, Food Safari also offers food courses
in London including Urban Foraging in a Day, combining wild food foraging with
a cookery; A Taste of the Wild - a introduction to foraging in the city. There
are also regular behind-the-scenes tours and courses with Sipsmith Distillery
and the London Honey Company.
Gift Vouchers for Food Safari make a great Christmas
present. Vouchers are available for specific events or can be left open for the
recipient to choose. Attendees leave a Food Safari day with some new skills to
try in the kitchen at home, whatever they’ve made in the day and a handful of
recipes. We hope to inspire people to a deeper understanding and appreciation
of the food we eat.

“This really was one of the best presents I have ever had. I
learned such a lot, all the presenters were top class and the food was
absolutely delicious.”
“The experience far exceeded my expectations and was
entertaining, good fun and I learnt lots of new information. I haven't stopped
telling people about it all weekend!”
“I really enjoyed the day. I’ve been on a lot of cooking
courses over the past few years and I have to say that it was one of the most
enjoyable and interesting.”
