VERMILION restaurant has achieved legendary status for its
combination of sumptuous decor and equally exquisite food - a combination of
Thai and Indian dishes.
Seafood has been a speciality from the start. Parent company
Seamark was the first to introduce Black Tiger shrimps to Europe 30 years ago
and has since grown into one of the greatest suppliers of quality seafood in
the world. From supermarkets to some of the greatest restaurants you'll find
Seamark produce
The quality shows in the dishes served in their own North
East Manchester restaurant, which benefits from Seamark's supply chain of the
freshest spices and Asian ingredients.
Add the expertise of executive chef Chatchai Jamjang and his team and
you have the perfect recipe for a memorable meal.
Now you can recreate the culinary experience in your own
home. Vermilion is revealing its kitchen
secrets by publishing a 160-page book called Ocean To Your Plate. It's
based upon seafood, naturally. Starters, soups, curries, mains - succulent,
healthy dishes from the freshest ingredients. All quick and easy to prepare.
Dishes like Vermilion signature dish, Grilled Ocean Tiger Prawns.
Ocean To Your Plate, as the title suggests, is not just a
collection of recipes. It's a fascinating introduction to Thai and Indian
cooking, its methods and the raw materials involved.
It's also a history of a remarkable family and its business
success. How Iqbal Ahmed OBE and his brothers created Seamark. Now a worldwide
seafood empire, it still sources much of its finest produce from its Bangladesh
homeland, where it has its own trawler fleet.
CEO Iqbal Ahmed OBE recently welcomed Prime Minister David
Cameron to Seamark HQ in Manchester -
recognition of the company's prestige in business circles.
But it is also a caring company. Seamark is bringing aid
to Bangladesh through the Iqbal Ahmed
Foundation - a charity to help and improve the role of people in the third
world countries, through education, training, housing and healthcare.
All proceeds from Ocean To Your Plate will go to the
Foundation.
Iqbal's son Manzur, who runs Vermilion, says in his
introduction: "I am extremely proud of Vermilion, a restaurant like no other.
Proud of its creativity, its design and, of course, its exquisite food."
Now you can recreate that exquisite cuisine at home - and
benefit a great charity.
