New Head Chef Takes Charge Of Modern British Cuisine At Prestigious Russell's - A Restaurant With Rooms In The Cotswolds

     04 Dec 12
An expert in modern British cuisine is bringing new ideas in modern British food to the award-winning Russells – a restaurant with rooms in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Neil Clarke has been appointed head chef at Russells in the historic village of Broadway. His new menu includes Cornish scallops, Local Paddock Farm Pork and Lighthorne Lamb. Neil is also known for serving classic desserts such as Apple Tart Tatin, Soufflé and Créme Brûlée in a new way.

Neil has worked at several prestigious restaurants in and around Warwickshire. He said: “This is a great opportunity to build on the reputation for fine food we’ve achieved, introduce new ideas and menus and develop our focus on high quality modern British cuisine using fresh locally-sourced ingredients.”

The picturesque village of Broadway is fast becoming a centre for connoisseurs of fine dining, art and history. Russell’s, owned by Andrew and Gaynor Riley, is named after the famous Arts & Crafts furniture designer Sir Gordon Russell whose former home it occupies following extensive renovations of the listed building.

The village also boasts prestigious art galleries and the Russell museum featuring the work of Sir Gordon Russell. Broadway is also an excellent base for walking in the surrounding Cotswold countryside or exploring it by car.

The “restaurant-with-rooms” is originally a French concept. Russell’s is a modern, airy restaurant leading into an informal courtyard. It also has a private dining room. There are seven guestrooms and suites all set in laid-back, stylish surroundings.

Andrew Riley said: “We’re delighted to have Neil as our head chef. He has a deft touch with modern British cuisine and he knows the area. Regular customers have told us they love his additions to the menu and we’re already welcoming discerning new diners who have heard of the excellent choices on offer.”

Russell’s can be found at 20 High Street Broadway, Worcestershire, WR12 7DT.
