Founding Fathers' Gift For Whisky Connoisseurs
For sons,
daughters or grandchildren searching for the ideal Fathers’ Day gift that can
last for generations, The Lakes Distillery has developed a once-in-a lifetime
gift, ideal for whisky fans or anyone wanting to save a little part of history.
The first
ever distillery in the beautiful Lake District, opening later this year, is
setting aside the first 100 casks of malt whisky produced for members of its
Founders’ Club.
Each year for
ten years, members will receive one 70cl bottle making up a collectible set of
the distillery’s first ever production, all with unique, limited edition
labels. These casks will not be available for the general public and are
uniquely reserved for members.
As the
bottles will undoubtedly be keepsakes, members will also receive two miniatures
each year to taste the spirit as it develops over time into a wonderful, single
malt whisky. Founder’s Club membership costs just £595, with an expected value
of over £1,400 over the ten years period. Delivery of the first bottle will be
in 2015.
“This offer
will never be repeated. It is a rare opportunity to own a piece of historic
whisky distilling. These first casks of a brand new malt can only ever be
produced once and will not be available to the general public – so this is a
chance to let your Dad own a piece of whisky history. It’s going to be
fascinating seeing how our spirit matures and we want connoisseurs and friends
of the Lakes to be part of this unique journey,” says Lakes Distillery founder
and managing director, Paul Currie.
Or, for the
true whisky fanatic father, or indeed anyone wishing to extend their investment
portfolio, there is a further opportunity for a very select group of just 60
people to have the unique opportunity to write their name in history. The Lakes
Distillery will produce 60 very special Connoisseurs’ Club oak sherry casks,
into which the very first drams of The Lakes Single Malt whisky will flow.
Each cask is
estimated to contain more than 100 bottles and your father can be there on that
historic first day to make the whisky himself, fill his own Connoisseur’s Cask
and see it stored in the distillery warehouse. That Connoisseur’s Cask and
every bottle drawn from it will forever bear your father’s name while he’ll
also be invited to exclusive events at the Lakes Distillery’s, including the
annual Connoisseurs’ Dinner. Each cask will be personally signed by Paul
Currie.
He can decide
when he would like to bottle his exclusive whisky, either all at the same time,
or spread the bottlings over 10 years. The Connoisseurs’ Club limited
membership is valued at £12,000, which includes your unique signature cask,
exclusive annual events, stay at the nearby 4-star Trout Hotel, delivery, all
duty and VAT. It’s estimated if kept, the cask will be worth over £20,000 in
years to come making it a perfect investment for both the head and heart.
