BBC Bristol Presenters Livvy & Chrissie Win Bronze Award At Radio Academy Awards
When women of
a certain age would never dream of starting a media career, BBC Radio Bristol
presenters Livvy & Chrissie win a top award.
Livvy &
Chrissie host a successful radio show, which includes their "Dishy
Chefs" slot and have won a Bronze award at The Radio Academy Awards (the
radio industry's equivalent of the Oscars), Best Entertainment Category,
alongside prestigious names such as The Dermot O'Leary Show. The winners were
announced at a glittering evening at The Grosvenor House Hotel on May 12th.
About Livvy
and Chrissie
Presenter
double act Livvy and Chrissie are bold, sassy and smart.
They are
living life to the full and loving it. At a time when most 'women of a certain
age' are leaving the media or being pushed out, Livvy & Chrissie are making
a stance and loving it!
Livvy and
Chrissie burst onto the airwaves 2 years ago. Taking a quiet Saturday lunchtime
slot, they quickly boosted the ratings with their unique mix of fun and banter.
Soon Studio 3 at BBC Radio Bristol became a hub for their 'Dishy Chef' slot as
well as interviews with polititians, musicians, celebrities and inspirational
women alike. Livvy and Chrissie have squared up to Sir Bob Geldorf, jammed with
Chris De Burgh, been jumped on by JLS, and took up the challenge with Charles
Hazelwood and Adrian Utley to rap live on air: “Women of a Certain Age, got
hormonal rage...” Well, you’re never too old to have a laugh and a boogie!
Livvy Rose
combines a rich background in psychotherapy and music with a honey voice, fab
style and a wicked sense of humour. A skilled interviewer, she can create an
enthralling, intimate moment in a busy studio and guests feel that they are
part of the gang.
Chrissie
Lloyd, with her background in IT, wants to ensure that no woman is ever
frightened of technology again. A sharp wit, a clever interviewer with good
journalistic skills, Chrissie’s one-liners can dissolve even the most hardened
souls into cracking a smile.
Livvy and
Chrissie design, produce, edit, interview, present and drive all their own
radio shows. And also are known to make their own coffee...
