UK's First Beetroot Yoghurt Launched By The Collective

NO MEAN FEAT: DARING ROOT VEGETABLE YOGHURT MADE WITH BEET

This June, the UK’s fastest growing yoghurt business The Collective (www.thecollectivedairy.com) is launching Britain’s first ever beetroot yoghurt with a daring root vegetable Limited Edition.

Blackcurrant & Beetroot retails at just £1 per 150g pot and can be bought nationwide from Waitrose, Ocado, Wholefoods, Nisa and Booths.

Traditionally pre-cooked, pickled and served with salad, The Collective is providing Brits with a completely innovative way to enjoy this versatile vegetable. Its striking, deep purple colour and rich earthy flavour produces a deliciously unique yoghurt unlike anything else available on supermarket shelves in the UK.

With beetroot renowned for being rich in fibre, vitamins and packed with antioxidants, this purple pick-me-up is a delectably daring way for consumers to get some of their five a day.

Amelia Harvey, Co-founder of The Collective says: “Until now, most of us will have only ever had beetroot in salads and never dreamed of having yoghurt with vegetable in it. Our new beetroot yoghurt is ground-breaking and a deliciously different way to enjoy this remarkable root vegetable.

“The Collective is pioneering to the core, and our team of tasters is always looking to develop innovative editions of our yoghurt range that will give British consumers the opportunity to experience something completely different that tastes mind-blowingly good.”

Like the whole of The Collective’s award-winning range of yoghurts, the new limited edition Blackcurrant & Beetroot is made in Britain using only the best West Country milk for a silky smooth, clean texture and a taste that melts in the mouth.

A double layer of beautifully sharp, fruity compote made with a blend of naturally sweet beetroot juice and tangy British blackcurrants is folded through The Collective’s signature thick and creamy gourmet yoghurt.

Free from any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and suitable for vegetarians or those with gluten-free diets, the yoghurt is packed with live cultures and contains just 5% fat.

This new edition is sold in a handy on-the-go pot, complete with a spoon underneath the lid so it can be enjoyed on the move.

The launch of Blackcurrant & Beetroot follows The Collective’s expansion into the drinks, dessert and children’s categories. In 2013 The Collective created the UK’s first alcoholic yoghurt with its Raspberry & Amaretto Limited Edition.

The Collective’s new Blackcurrant & Beetroot edition is available nationwide from Waitrose, Ocado, Wholefoods, Nisa and Booths, with an RRP of £1 per 150g pot.
