Enjoy Arabian Nights - And Days - At Osbornes

An exotic array of Turkish delights is on offer to partygoers at one of Tyneside’s most popular bars.

Osbornes Bar, at Osborne Road, Jesmond, has unveiled a specially designed Sheesha Garden, bringing the traditions of the Ottoman Empire to Newcastle.

The Sheesha Garden, which launched this month, offers customers a menu of mezze dishes, such as grilled halloumi and cous cous salad, salt and pepper squid with harissa mayonnaise and cinnamon and coriander lamb kofta lollipops.

However, its star attraction is a series of elaborate and traditional hookah or sheesha pipes, through which customers can able to smoke a variety of flavoured tobaccos, such as apple, watermelon and mint, with prices starting at £10.

Sheesha pipes are enjoying worldwide popularity at present and Osbornes’ Sheesha Garden is the first venue of its kind in the Jesmond area.

“The Sheesha Garden is the perfect venue for anyone looking to spend time with friends in a relaxed and fun environment,” said Atul Malhotra, director of The Malhotra Group, which owns a wide portfolio of bars and restaurants in the area, including Osbornes Kitchen and Scalini’s on Osborne Road.

“What could be nicer than spending a leisurely hour or two experimenting with sheesha pipes, enjoying the finest Middle Eastern food and just absorbing the exotic flavours and fragrances of a distant land?”

The Sheesha Garden is open from Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 11pm and from Friday to Sunday between midday and 11pm and prices for the hookah pipes start at £10. For further information, call Osbornes on 0191 240 7778 or visit www.osbornesjesmond.co.uk
