Feast For Fathers

A leading North East events company is planning the ‘Father’ of all feasts to celebrate the achievements of dads across the region.

On Sunday June 15, 1879 Events Management will be hosting Father’s Day lunches at the Stadium of Light and the National Glass Centre Brasserie.

Each venue will have its own three-course menu, both specially prepared by 1879’s award-winning chefs, offering families the opportunity to choose where to treat their special men.

The National Glass Centre Brasserie menu, which will be served throughout the afternoon, includes three options for each course.

These dishes, ranging from duck and port terrine and fish and chips, to braised topside of beef and homemade apple crumble, will all be made using the freshest locally-sourced ingredients, with additional options for vegetarians.

All fathers dining at the National Glass Centre Brasserie will also receive a complimentary bottle of Rupert’s Drop ale.

Across the city, the Stadium of Light’s Riverview Brasserie will be hosting its own Father’s Day feast, with a choice of four starters, five main courses and four desserts.

This includes deep-fried filo king prawns with a sweet chilli sauce and micro leaves, slow cooked hock of lamb set on a bed of creamy mashed potato with a mint and redcurrant jelly sauce and classic chocolate tart.
Dads dining here will also receive a complimentary gift to take away.

1879 Events Management, a subsidiary of SAFC, currently caters for a wide range of outside events, as well managing catering and hospitality at the Stadium of Light and National Glass Centre, Sunderland.

Both of its Father’s Day menus are priced at £17.95 for three courses, with the option to enjoy just one or two courses at the National Glass Centre Brasserie for £9.95 and £13.95 respectively and reduced rates for children at both sites.

For bookings at the Stadium of Light call 0871 911 1555 or email conf&banq@safc.com and for bookings at the National Glass Centre call 0191 515 5555 (option 1).
