Interdean Highlights America’s Best Cities for Gastronomy

The global leaders for international relocation, Interdean, have remarked upon Conde Nast Traveler’s top 20 American cities for foodies.

According to an article published in Conde Nast Traveler online, a reader’s choice survey was conducted to select the top 20 U.S. cities with the best restaurants. Whilst some of the results were fairly obvious (the appearance of New York City and New Orleans were undoubtedly going to make the list) some of the other winners were considered more surprising.

New York took top spot in Conde Nast Traveler’s survey, and given the vibrant city’s history for being a cosmopolitan melting pot, it is not really too odd that prize chefs from all over the world have come here to share their delicacies.

In at number two comes one of the world’s most renowned wine growing regions – Napa Valley. Whilst Napa Valley is predominantly known for its wine, it has now inspired a whole gamut of gourmet chefs to take advantage of the fertile region’s produce.

Third in comes another Californian location; the Golden Gate powerhouse, San Francisco. Often described as the gateway between east and west, San Francisco harbours a large China town district filled with prominent Chinese chefs. But the real cooking comes in unassuming restaurants such as Mission Pie and Delfina Pizzeria.

‘America has a huge food culture; a large part of everyday life is the food – families will often gather at the table, in the garden or at a restaurant and enjoy a gastronomic feast in a large social situation. It’s not just about socialising though, the quality of food is important, and with so much food geared to grab your attention in the United States, it can be hard to know exactly where is best to eat. This list makes it possible to narrow down your search to 20 beautiful American cities.’
