Popular Restaurants and Musicians Come Together in Support of Oregon Children's Cancer Awareness Day Portland, OR, June 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Spread your blankets and folding chairs under shady fir trees along the scenic Sandy River in Troutdale, Oregon and enjoy a fun-filled day on Saturday, August 2nd from noon to 8pm at the fourth annual "21 and over" Soulful Giving Blanket Concert with Pete Ferryman, Anchor at Good Day Oregon on KPTV Fox-12, presiding as Master of Ceremonies. Junki and Linda Yoshida will open the beautiful gardens surrounding their sprawling 15-acre estate once again to 2,500 ticketholders. This year’s musical line-up features: The Slide Brothers, California Honeydrops, Lilla D’Mone and Portland’s own…Soul Vaccination. Participating restaurants include: El Gaucho, Morton’s, Salty’s, Jamison, Davis Street Tavern, Tree’s Catering, Fuji’s Clackamas, Urban Fondue, Brix Tavern, Bumper’s Grill & Bar, La Bamba, Wilfs, No Ka Oi Catering, and The Riverview. As an additional treat, Man-with-a-pan chef Mark Staggs will be showcasing his talent by creating blazing calamari, and Duck Pond Cellars, General Distributors, K&F Coffee, Crater Lake Vodka, Earth 2o Water, and Sake One will have drinks and assorted beverages available to enjoy.

With cancer being the leading cause of death by disease among children in the U.S., this year’s event will benefit the pediatric cancer unit at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel as well as the Providence Cancer Research Center. To honor the dedication of medical teams in this field, Governor Kitzhaber has issued an official proclamation designating August 2nd as Oregon Children’s Cancer Awareness Day. Although cure rates are increasing, close to 35% of children diagnosed with cancer will not survive and there has been an increase in cancer over the past 20 years. Doctors and scientists studying and identifying the causes and cures of childhood cancers need the public’s assistance to support advances in treatment. With this in mind, the Soulful Giving Foundation encourages you to join us in making a difference in the lives of children in Oregon State.

Tickets are now available on line at www.soulfulgiving.org and at the Customer Service Desk at participating Fred Meyer stores. General admission is $25; Premium tickets (which include food & beverage tokens) are $50, and $100 VIP tickets include tokens, limo service, champagne, VIP seating and a commemorative gift.
