Liz McClarnon And Mark Sargeant Launch New Main Meals In Minutes

New research* shows time-strapped home cooks are more likely to cook a quick meal from scratch than pop a ready meal in the microwave, so it's cracking news that two rising culinary stars are launching a new recipe collection of egg-based main meals in minutes.

The series of ten meals - all 15 minutes or less - come courtesy of Celebrity MasterChef winner Liz McClarnon and former head chef of Claridge's, Mark Sargeant, and comprise delicious omelettes, tortillas and frittatas with a twist.

The speedy dishes will feature on a new website - eggrecipes.co.uk/mainmealsinminutes - alongside a series of step-by-step videos presented by Mark and Liz. The celebs give their best omelette-making tips and show just how easy it is to rustle up meals in minutes using eggs.  Mark's recipes range from a Chorizo tortilla using potato crisps to a flavour-packed Smoked salmon and pea frittata, while Liz has created a family-friendly Pizza omelette and a carb-free 'Forget the pastry' quiche.

Mark says: "This is the kind of food I like to cook - quick and simple but using great quality British ingredients. I love the fact that with a box of eggs, some leftovers and your favourite herbs or spices, you can put together a great meal in a few minutes."

Liz says: "I'm always rushing about at dinner time, so I wanted to create the kind of fuss-free recipes that are easy to rustle up for family or friends.  Even better, eggs are just the right ingredient to keep you in shape and are so quick and easy to cook with. Anyone can cook my recipes; they are so simple and show that fast food doesn't have to be unhealthy!"

Always use eggs bearing the Lion mark, which guarantees that they have been produced to the highest standards of food safety.  All Lion Quality eggs come from British hens vaccinated against salmonella, are fully traceable and have a 'best before' date on the shell as a guarantee of freshness.
