Jams With The Taste Of The English Countryside Launched In Booths And Asda
A range of stunning new jams with the taste of the English
countryside has been launched in Booths and Asda.
Mammy Jamia's will be stocked in all 29 Booths' stores
across the North of England, while ASDA has agreed to trial the brand in 25 of
its London stores.
Booths are taking four jams - Fig, Pear, Plum and Ginger -
while ASDA has agreed to offer its customers Fig, Rhubarb, Ginger and
Greengage.
The range of Mammy Jamia's premium fruit preserves is also
available at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Ocado. Tesco stocks three of the
company's preserves - Fig, Pear and Rhubarb, while Sainsbury's, Waitrose and
Ocado stock Mammy Jamia's Fig, Pear and Apple preserves.
Mammy Jamia's was launched last year by North West based
husband and wife Andrew and Sajmira Cairns. There are eight jams in the range -
fig, pear, rhubarb, apple, plum, greengage, ginger and quince - which are based
on an original recipe passed down through Sajmira's family, hence the name
Mammy Jamia.
Andrew Cairns said: 'We are delighted to have been chosen by
Booths to be stocked across all of their stores. They are a wonderful family-run
company with a proven reputation for supporting independent producers such as
Mammy Jamia's.
"We are also excited about being stocked by ASDA in the
south of England where we believe there will a strong demand for a premium
range of preserves like Mammy Jamia's.
"We have listened carefully to each of the supermarkets
in which we have gained a listing and provided them with the particular jams
they thought would work best for their customers."
The jams are manufactured and distributed by Kent-based
Opies, one of the UK's oldest private family-owned food companies.
The 340g jars retail at £2.39.
