The Grand, Brighton Serves Up New Fish Restaurant

The Grand Hotel in Brighton is delighted to announce the opening next month of its new seafood restaurant GB1, as part of a multi-million pound overhaul of the hotel.

GB1 hopes to become one of the city's most stylish hotspots with sleek furnishings, unrivalled sea views and a huge ice bar as its centrepiece. The restaurant's unique feature though will be the fish; all of which will be caught sustainably on the day in which it is served and within a seven mile radius of the hotel. Not only will this ensure that the restaurant serves super-fresh delicious fish, but also supports the local fishing industry and sustainable fishing as a whole.

The Grand's General Manager, Andrew Mosley, said "We are extremely excited about the launch of GB1 which we know will be a fantastic addition to the hotel. We are also very proud to be supporting the local fishing industry, the Grand is a Brighton landmark and as such we make every effort to support local businesses. It helps that in this case, the local fish is some of the best around!"

Patrons of the new restaurant will be able to select their fish and seafood from the menu or the catch of the day displayed at the ice bar. With recommendations from the restaurant's expert chefs they will then be able to choose how their fish is cooked and served to create their perfect dish, or if that sounds a bit daunting, then there will also be a traditional menu, which will feature Executive Chef, Alan White's favourite dishes: fish pie, the best ever fish finger sandwich and a Monkfish tikka, as well as the option to simply enjoy some oysters and champagne at the bar. For those meat lovers choices from the grill will also be available.
